24.1.25 Weekly News!
We have had a very exciting week in Year 5! We have learnt a lot and had great fun doing so.
English
This week, we published our news reports and added pictures to them, we also spent Wednesday linking our computing learning this term to English, we created, edited and uploaded a video linked to our news report. Next week, we will write our own free verse poem in the role of AJ, exploring the feelings he experienced when his grandad passed away. If you would like more details about this please feel free to email us and we can explain this to you further.
Maths
In Maths this week, we have been exploring factors, we used Freddie Factor to help us, we then moved on to learning prime numbers.
Next week, we will be exploring squared and cubed numbers. Then we will use number bonds to find factors, products and missing number.
Thematic
This week, we have been learning all about how clever the Anglo-Saxons were with metal work. We created our own jewellery out of wire and stones, we also made designed and made Anglo-Saxon shields.
Next week, we will be moving on to our science learning looking at different materials.
