Chilton Primary School

One Childhood, One Chance

Friday 14th February 2025

Dear Families,

As we reach the end of what has truly been a wonderful term, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt thanks to all of you for your continued support, enthusiasm, and engagement in school life. It has been a term full of joy, learning, and unforgettable experiences.

There have been so many highlights over the past few months. From a special visit by our local MP, Polly Billington, to the sheer excitement of Reception’s Superhero Dress-Up Day, every moment has added to the vibrant energy of our school. Our Year 2 children had an incredible adventure exploring Ramsgate Harbour, and the creativity on display during our Super Dress-Up Number Day was truly inspiring! Year 5’s trip to see Matilda at Chatham and Clarendon Grammar School was a magical experience, and of course, we can’t forget the sensational Young Voices event at the O2, where our children had the opportunity to be involved in such a spectacular setting.

While these big events have been truly special, what we are most proud of at Chilton is the love of learning that shines through every day. The exciting and engaging lessons taking place across the curriculum are a testament to the dedication and skill of our incredible staff. Our teachers and support staff work tirelessly to create a school environment that is safe, fun, and enriching for every child. Their passion and commitment ensure that each day at Chilton is filled with curiosity, creativity, and discovery.

One of the most significant achievements this term has been our move to full free-flow at lunchtimes. Seeing the children embrace Thrive Play with such enthusiasm has been truly wonderful. With more space to explore, new play opportunities, and the increased support of our fantastic staff, the children are developing their sense of independence, collaboration, and responsibility. It has been incredibly moving to see our older pupils stepping up to support and nurture our youngest children, demonstrating the kindness and leadership that makes Chilton such a special community.

We are currently working on plans to invite parents in to see Thrive Play for yourselves – so watch this space! We would love for you to see first hand the joy, creativity, and positive interactions that take place each day during these valuable play sessions.

Finally, I want to extend my deepest thanks to all the parents who have volunteered their time to support our upcoming community project. Your generosity and willingness to get involved mean so much to us. If you are still interested in lending a hand on 10th March, there is still time to sign up! It promises to be a fantastic afternoon of teamwork and fun.
