Weekly News!
Maths
This week in Maths we have been recapping our learning on multiplication. We reminded ourselves on how to create arrays to represent a multiplication calculation. We moved our learning on by answering tricky reasoning questions for example 2 X 5 = 4 X 2, agree or disagree? Why?
Religious Education
This week in RE we have been learning about Muslim celebrations. We had great discussions on what we were thankful for which linked into the Muslim celebration of Mawlid Al-Nabi. Later in the week we spoke about the celebration of Eid and how this is celebrated.
RWI
In Read Write Inc this week, Miss Davey's group have been reading Robin Hood. We were inspired to go to the Forest School to create our very own bridges! In the story, Robin Hood and John Little have an argument and John Little whacks Robin Hood into the brook off a little bridge. We decided to see if we could make sturdy bridges for our own choice of animal or thing. Take a look at our super bridges!
Phonics Screen
Next week is the Year 1 Phonics Screen. We have not mentioned anything to the children as we do not want them to feel they are under any pressure or to become anxious. The children will know no different as they are used to practising their sounds with an adult regularly. If you have any questions please feel free to either email myself or Miss Keam or catch us at the door.
