Chilton Primary School

One Childhood, One Chance

Heads Up 21st March 2025

Dear Families,
What a wonderful week it has been! Thank you all for your continued participation and support in everything we do to enhance your children’s learning and wellbeing. Your involvement truly makes a difference, and I feel like exciting things are afoot at Chilton Primary School.

During my time here, we have become a Thrive school, and I can confidently say that we compete with the very best when it comes to children’s wellbeing and additional support. We have transformed many parts of our curriculum, ensuring our children receive the very best education. However, what I am most proud of is play. Every day, I see children eager to come to school and disappointed to leave at the end of the day, and that speaks volumes. The array of new playtime activities we have introduced this year is a testament to our commitment to having the happiest children in Thanet, Kent—perhaps even the entire country!

In this past couple of weeks, we have introduced sand pits and a brand-new tyre mountain, and believe me, there is much more to come. But this isn’t just down to me; it is the collective effort of our PTA, our volunteers, our community, our Junior Leadership Team, our children, and our staff. There is a real drive at the moment to deliver on our mantra at Chilton: ‘Getting better never stops.’ We are building on a history of success, and while we have always had a strong foundation, we are aiming even higher, striving to compete with the very best in every aspect of school life. None of this would be possible without each of you—our wonderful community—who offer unwavering support and enthusiasm.

On Monday, 31st March, we are once again looking for volunteers to help us finish the jobs we started earlier this term. If you have some time to spare and can help us paint fences and spruce up the Reception and Key Stage 1 areas, we would be so grateful. Please email me or speak to me at the gate if you would like to contribute to making our school environment even better for our children.

Something else I deeply appreciate is the commitment you have all shown to events such as Red Nose Day and Down Syndrome Awareness Day, both of which we have celebrated today. These are true highlights in our calendar—not just for the fun they bring, but for the personal sentiment attached to each cause. These events mean a great deal to us, and I want to extend my heartfelt thanks for your participation—whether through Rocking Your Socks or contributing to our Comic Relief ‘80s party!
Next week, we have Parent-Teacher Consultations, and I hope these provide a valuable insight into your child’s progress so far this year. I look forward to seeing you all there.

Thank you once again for your ongoing support and commitment. Together, we are making Chilton Primary School the very best it can be.
Best wishes,
Mr McAuley
