Dear families,

What a fantastic week it has been at Chilton! The energy, excitement, and dedication to learning continue to make our school a truly special place.

Firstly, I want to extend a huge thank you to all the volunteers who generously gave their time on Monday to help give the Key Stage 1 playground the facelift it deserves. This improvement will benefit all of our children, and I hope you agree that this area of the school has seen significant investment and enhancement over the past six months. Our goal remains to create the best possible environment where all our children can play, learn, and thrive. There will undoubtedly be future opportunities to get involved, so if you would like to join our incredible team and help revitalise other areas of the school, please keep an eye out for the next event! Again, thank you to those of you who gave their time.

A quick reminder that parent-teacher consultations are now available to book. If you haven’t done so already, please log in to MCAS or visit the school office, and we will help you secure a slot. These meetings are a great opportunity to discuss your child's progress and learning journey.

Next Friday promises to be an exciting and action-packed day! Firstly, it is Comic Relief, and to celebrate its 40th birthday, we are inviting children to dress up for an 80’s party! Let’s party like it’s 1985 and support this wonderful cause in style!

On the same day, we will also be marking Rock Your Socks Day for Down Syndrome Awareness Day. The children will be engaging in learning activities to understand more about Down Syndrome and how we can raise awareness and celebrate inclusivity.

Finally, to round off this busy day, we will be opening our doors for an Open Books Session at the end of the school day. This will give parents the chance to look through their child's learning ahead of parent-teacher consultations the following week. We encourage all parents to take this opportunity to see the fantastic progress the children have been making!

As we approach the summer and holiday season, I would like to gently remind families of the importance of taking holidays during school breaks. Extensive research has shown the negative impact that lost learning time can have on children’s academic outcomes and their attitudes toward school. We want Chilton to be the happiest school around, where children wake up excited and eager to be here every single day, so please try to keep holidays within the designated school holiday periods.

Thank you, as always, for your support and involvement in our school community.

Best wishes,

Mr McAuley
