Chilton Primary School

One Childhood, One Chance

Friday 18th October 2024

Dear Families,

Thank you all for another wonderful week here at Chilton Primary School! Although this has been an incredibly long term and we still have one more week to go, the energy amongst our children and staff has been nothing short of amazing. From our recent sporting successes to the enthusiasm with which the children engage in their learning each day, I am constantly reminded of how fortunate I am to be the Head of such an incredible school.

I’d like to give a special thank you to all those who come along and support our weekly Wake and Shake sessions. The feedback I’ve received about the positivity these events bring has been overwhelming. What makes them so special is the sense of togetherness and community they create. It means a lot to me and to our children, so if you’re able to attend our final Wake and Shake of Term 1 this Wednesday, please do join us. It’s a fantastic way to start the day!

Our current whole-school attendance stands at 97.3%. While this is just above our target, it’s important to note that this equates to 438 lost school days this term across all our children, which is the equivalent of every child missing one day. Please remember that we are happy to administer Calpol with your permission if needed, and even when children aren’t feeling completely at their best, they can still engage in learning. Your support in encouraging attendance, when possible, truly makes a big difference to their progress and our school community.

As next Thursday is the final day of this term, I’ll be drawing the names of 8 children out of a hat who have had 97% attendance or better this term. These 8 lucky children will get a special lunch with me in the dinner hall.

Finally, just a quick reminder, school will finish on Thursday 24th, as Friday 25th is an INSET.  Lunch next Thursday is a sticker-under-the-plate day.  The prize will be 4 tickets to the Quex Park firework night display on Nov 2nd.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend, and I look forward to seeing everyone bright and early on Monday morning!

Warm regards,
Mr McAuley
