One Childhood, One Chance

Weekly learning w/b

Important notices:

Our SATs begin on Tuesday 9th May. The children have worked extremely hard to get to this point in the year so we would like the ‘Home Learning’ this week to be to spend the weekend relaxing and getting plenty of rest before next week.

  • Year 6 SATs breakfast club will continue on Tuesday 9th May. Our classroom doors will be open from 8am onwards and this is free to all Year 6 children. We look forward to seeing all the children then. Please see previous email from Mrs Law regarding this or please ask us if you have any questions.

  • After school sports clubs will run as usual.

  • PE and Sports project will also run as usual (Wednesday and Friday)

English:

This week, we wrote a letter to Kensuke’s son, completed an AR quiz on Kensuke’s Kingdom and spent the other lessons creating some pieces of art linked to Kensuke’s Kingdom including painting an orang-utan and some Japanese blossom trees.  The pictures below show the children making their own paintbrushes - just like Kensuke in the story!

Maths:

This week, the children have continued to spend time recapping previous learning and working hard to find ways to help them remember key skills and knowledge. Here are some of the areas of Maths we have been revising: different types of angles, missing angles, 2D and 3D shapes, coordinates, translation and reflection.
