Year 3 weekly news 07.10.22
Year 3 have had another fantastic week of learning!
English
This week we have continued our work on ‘The Princess and the White Bear King’. We have been focusing on character descriptions, using descriptive vocabulary choices, expanded noun phrases and prepositions. We have moved on to writing descriptive compound sentences using conjunctions such as and, but and so. Next week we will be looking at retelling the story.
Maths
In Maths, we’ve been learning about multiplication. We have been multiplying by ten with our place value sliders and place value counters to show multiplication. By the end of the week, we used our manipulatives to understand multiplication of two digit numbers by single digit numbers.
Topic
We started the week securing our knowledge of the Roman Era by placing events in chronological order on a timeline. We then moved on to a two day Geography project learning about Reculver and how this linked to the Romans. You will be able to view all of our topic work on the Roman museum day.
LOVE TO LEARN
In school the children have been learning about how the Romans changed Britain. We would like you to create an information sheet about this. You may do this in any way you like, such as; on the computer, poster, handwritten with pictures.
Please could this be returned to school by Wednesday 12th October.
