The children all had so much fun at the Viking Games and were all Chilton Heroes. A huge thank you to the P.E team!

Maths

This week in Maths, we have been looking at money.

At the start of the week, we practised making the same amount of money using different coins.

For example, how many ways can you make 10p?

10p coin

1p + 1p + 1p + 1p + 1p + 1p + 1p + 1p + 1p + 1p = 10p

5p + 5p = 10p

2p + 2p + 1p + 5p = 10p

2p + 2p + 2p + 2p + 2p = 10p

English

This week in English we have continued the book The Lonely Beast by Chris Judge. This week we have been working hard and have been writing our very own newspaper report. We have continued to focus on the 5 W’s who, what, where, when and why, past tense verbs and direct speech. On Friday we wrote a newspaper report on our Viking Games. The children really impressed us with their amazing newspaper articles!

R.E

This week in R.E we have looked at Christians Rites of Passage. We looked at a Christian wedding ceremony and what the bride and groom wear on their special day. The children were really excited about this and shared some of their own stories of going to a Christian wedding.

Important Information

Sports Project for next term will change back to a Tuesday. P.E will continue to be on a Monday.  

Olympian Visit 

We are incredibly excited to announce that on the 6^{th of} June we have Olympic gymnast Danny Crouch visiting Chilton, to deliver a class assembly with a Q & A session and a short fitness session. Every child has received a sponsorship form this week to complete and fill in to try and raise as much money as possible for Danny to help him with his career. There will be prizes for the most amount raised! If you would like any extra information about Danny, his crowdfunding page is linked below.
