One Childhood, One Chance

Numbers Day Adds Up To Learning Fun

A collection of colourful and creative costumed children helped celebrated the annual NSPCC Numbers Day at Chilton Primary.

In exchange for a donation to the charity, pupils who wanted to were invited to dress in rock star chic or outfits bearing numerals.

The theme of the special day was to highlight the work done by the charity that seeks to promote child safety as well as celebrating a love for maths and numbers.

The learning programme was fluid although there were Times Table Rock Star sessions for Years 2-6 and maths superheroes tests for Years 3-6.

The school raised £247.90 and Deputy Head of School Hannah Cheshire said: “The focus was how we work with numbers and the importance of maths in our everyday lives and as part of our learning core.

“The children – and staff – who came dressed as rock stars were outrageous while our younger pupils looked great in their numbers and shapes outfits.

“Children also learned about the important work that the NSPCC charity does in protecting children.”

Chilton Primary is part of the Viking Academy Trust with partner schools Ramsgate Arts Primary and Upton Junior.
