It’s been a wonderful end to term 2 in year 5. The children have worked very hard to the bitter end and now deserve a relaxing Christmas break. Well done on such a fantastic term!

 

English

This week, we finally finished our alien narratives, using powerful verbs and adverbs to show action. The children’s stories have been engaging, surprising and adventurous. There are some very creative minds in year 5.

 

Maths

During our final week of maths this term, we focused on statistics. We used line graphs to gather information and compare data. We also completed several Christmas investigations which the children found both challenging and fun.

 

Thematic

We finished our Stargazers unit with a quiz, displaying the great knowledge gained over the term. Next term we will be starting our new unit – Marvels of Matter.

- Next term, our PE day will remain on Monday and our Top-up PE will remain on a Wednesday

- We encourage the children to read over the Christmas holidays
