Weekly news
In the first week of term 5, year 2 have revisited shape. They have investigated 2D and 3D shapes and used the mathematical vocabulary to describe them (sides, edges, faces, vertices). The children also went on a 'shape hunt' around the school to see where shapes are used in everyday life.
In English, year 2 have written a recount of their trip to Monkton nature reserve; persuaded their teacher which Thundercat is the best; wrote from the persepective of a statue and explained why they love Fridays! The children have been focusing on ensuring their punctuation and spellings are accurate as well as using paragraphs to separate their writing and using conjunctions to link sentences together.
“My Home Town” – home learning task
Where we grow up plays a huge part in our lives – shaping who we are, what we do, who we know and where we go! For your home learning project for ‘Good to be Me’, over the course of Term 5, we would like you to create something that tells us all about what ‘My Home Town’ means to you. This home learning can take any form – there is no right or wrong way but you can be as creative as you like!
Home learning
For our year 2 home learning task, we would like the children to create a fact file about themselves. As always, this can be in any form they like: pictures, drawings, powerpoint, video. We look forward to seeing the children's work!
