Amazing Superheroes
This week we started our week this week with an amazing Superhero day! Thank you so much for all your hard work with the children's outfits. They looked amazing.
In English this week, we have been writing our very own Superhero story. We came up with own villains and heroes and shared ideas for problems our Superheroes could solve. We acted out our ideas and had a go at writing our own stories!
In Maths, we have learnt about comparing and measuring distance. We had Superhero cars that drove down ramps. We discussed which had travelled furthest and put them in order. We then used strips of card to measure and compare how far they had travelled.
In creative development, we have been designing masks and capes for the new Superheroes we have invented. In 'Understanding the World' we visited the forest school and made Superhero dens from the natural materials available.
Reminders: Team Periwinkles door remains broken. We will keep you posted on developments with this via text messages and letters.
We will be holding an Easter Bonnet / hat parade for Reception, Year 1 and 2 pupils. We invite children to create an Easter masterpiece in head-wear and then bring it to school on the last day of term (5th April). We will then hold a parade at 10:00 am and parents of Reception, Year 1 and 2 children are invited to join us. Please come in via the school hall. The parade will last no longer than 20-30 minutes. Prizes will be awarded to the best creations!
