Weekly News
Well done to all of the children for a wonderful Term 3 at Chilton! The children have all been stars this term and we are proud of them all.
In our topic this week, we have been learning about Chinese New Year. The children have been retelling the story and have started to think about how they celebrate different events. This week the children had the opportunity to sample different Chinese foods and then wrote about the foods they tasted.
In maths, the children have been learning to subtract. They have learned that with the calculation 10-2, we start with 10 objects, we have to take 2 away and then count how many are left. You could try doing some subtraction at home with some practical resources. We have been really impressed with how well the children have done with their addition and subtraction over the past few weeks.
A new love to learn task will be sent home for over the half term holiday. We cannot wait to see all of the fantastic Superheroes the children design! Please note that the children will need to come in to school dressed as their superhero on Monday 11th March (adults will be dressed up too!)
PE kits will be sent home to be washed over the half term holiday. Please could you take this opportunity to check that your child has a full PE kit and that everything has their name in –many thanks.
The week beginning 25th February are when Parent-Teacher consultations will take place. If you have not yet booked your appointment, please do so. This is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the wonderful progress that your child has made this year.
ADVANCED WARNING: Children will need to come dressed as a character from a book on Thursday 7th March to celebrate World Book Day. During this week, the children will take part in many different book and story activities.
We all hope that you have a relaxing half term holiday and we look forward to seeing the children on Monday 25th February.
