We have had another amazing week in Reception! The children are making such amazing progress and are certainly looking like they are ready for Year 1! 

SCHOOL PHOTO DAY

This will be on Tuesday 29^th June. The children will need to come in to school in their school uniform (not their PE kit). Thank you!

Maths

In maths this week, we have been learning to halve a set of objects. The children learned that they needed to share the objects equally between 2 groups or two parts to halve a set of objects. They have also been learning about doubling. They learned that double 3 is the same as 3+3. They have done such a super job with their maths learning again this week!

Topic

This week, we have been reading the story ‘Commotion in the Ocean’. The children have loved listening to this story. We have been learning to write in sentences to describe what we can see in the sea. We have also been thinking about how the different sea creatures move and have tried to move in the same way. The children have also produced some marvellous artwork of different sea creatures.

Beach Trip

You should have received information about our trip to the beach in July. If you do not have these details, please contact your child’s class teacher, and they will send out the information to you again.

Sports Day

Sports Day for Reception children will take place on Monday 19^th July at 1:45pm. Further details will be sent closer to the date.

 

REMINDERS:

• Any junk modelling would be kindly appreciated.
• If you collect any items for the beach we would love to use them in our role play areas in school.
• Children need to come in to school in their school uniform on Tuesday 29^th June (not their PE kit)
