Phonics 

Each day of school closure, the Ruth Miskin team will be uploading a Set 1, Set 2 and Set 3 Speed Sounds lesson video to Youtube. We will be following the Set 1 videos. These will be sounds that your child has learned in class already. You will be recapping these sounds at home which will hopefully give your child a sense of confidence.

Today (7.5.20) the video will be focusing on the sound ‘z’. 

After practising writing the sound in your book, please then recap writing the sounds ‘w’ and ‘y’.

Draw someone sleeping and write ‘z z z z z z z z z’ above them! 

Draw a bumble bee and write ‘z z z z z z z z z’ above it!

Topic  

Yesterday you planted seeds and added a tree into your garden. Today we will be making a vegetable patch. Use a small box or cut a rectangle piece of card to make your vegetable box for your garden. Think about what vegetables you would like to see grow in your garden.
