-Year 6 parents are invited into school on Monday 28th Nov at 2:30pm to see and try your child's Healthy Eating Project. Both classrooms will be open for you to visit at 2:30pm.

-White paper bags will be sent home on Monday 21st Nov. Please decorate and fill with sweets/treats or small toys. These will be sold at our Christmas Lantern Festival. The Christmas Lantern Festival is taking place on Tuesday 29th Nov.

English

This week we planned and wrote a dream sequence. The children focused on their expanded noun phrases, figurative language and varying their sentence types.  Year 6 also learnt about determiners and spent some time understanding where they are placed in a sentence.

Next week, the children will be writing in role as Skellig and Michael.  They will focus on writing in the correct tense.

Maths

Years 6 had a successful week revising their knowledge of fractions of shape and fractions.

Next week the children will continue learning about fractions: equivalent fractions, simplifying fractions, improper and mixed number fractions.

See below for a maths resource sheet to support your child in fractions.

Afternoon lessons:

This week the children took part in several anti-bullying and kindness lessons.  The children learnt what to do if they see or experience bullying as well as talking about what bullying is not.  Year 6 finished the week making anti-bullying adverts that gave advice to children.

Next week the children will continue learning about how to keep their body healthy.  They will learn about healthy eating and then design their own healthy snack. Please see the important notice above for information about seeing what the children have been learning in class on Monday 28th Nov.
