English
In English this week, the children have found out more about who Michael is sharing the Island with, in Kensuke’s Kingdom. They have described Kensuke and shown his character traits using a range of adjectives and adverbs. We have reached Chapter four of the text so will be continuing to read Kensuke’s Kingdom after the Easter break, when we will be finding out more about how Kensuke arrived on the Island and writing narrative from his point of view - weaving action, dialogue and description.
Maths
This week, the children have been using coordinates to describe the position of shapes on a four-quadrant grid. They have translated the shapes describing new positions and reflected the shapes across the axis. After the Easter break, we will be focussing on problem solving using the four operations. We will also be learning how to use scaling to solve ratio problems.
Thematic Curriculum
In RE this week, we have been expressing beliefs through art and dance. The children created a dance to show different emotions such as happiness, excitement and sadness. Then they created a stain glass window depicting a scene or emotion.
Home Learning
We would like the children to continue to read over the Easter break. Other than that, have a lovely - and well-deserved - rest! Access Myon here - https://www.myon.co.uk/index.html
