Important Notices:

Cross Country tomorrow (8th October) Good Luck to all the runners.

Next Friday, after assembly Year 6 will be walking to the Western Undercliff beach to build some Norman 'Motte and Bailey' castles. The children should still come to school in their PE kit as they will have PE in the afternoon. They may bring Wellington boots to change into and should wear a coat. They may also bring buckets and spades.

Year 5/6 Harvest Festival Assembly - Friday 21st (in the school hall)

Home Learning - Due in by Thursday 13th October

We would like the children to research Climate Change. They can present their research in any way they choose. They will be using the information they find out to inform their writing the following week.

The children should also practise the words to our Harvest song click here for the song and lyrics - Autumn Days 

In English, we have been writing dialogue to show characterisation linked to our text Floodland. We have been using a range of sentence structures to include compound and complex sentences.

Next week we will be focussing on writing action - depicting battle scenes - focussing on sentence openers. 

In Maths, we have been learning to multiply and divide by 10, 100 and 1000. We have also been looking at multiples and factors.

Next week we will be learning about prime, square and cubed numbers before moving onto multiplying, using a formal method.

In Topic, we have been learning about the Bayeaux Tapestry and have created our own ones to show our life at Chilton. We have looked at the main events shown on the tapestry including, the Battle of Hastings.

Next week we will be learning about the Feudal System and creating our own armour before we head out onto the field for a reenactment.
