Weekly News - 5.7.19
Another busy week for Team Periwinkle and Team Teal! The children all had a great time in their new classrooms meeting their new teacher(s) on Thursday. They were all very excited to tell us about their day! It was a pleasure to see so many of you at the Open Evening on Thursday evening - many thanks to those who were able to attend. Many thanks also to the parents who were able to come along to the Fun in the Sun afternoon on Friday - the children seemed to be having a great time.
In topic this week, we started our Under the Sea and Pirate and Mermaids topic. The children made some fantastic treasure maps and did some great writing to describe an underwater scene. They also created spectacular under the sea dioramas (many thanks for all of the shoe boxes sent in).
In maths, the children have been naming and describing 3D shapes (cone, cylinder, cube, cuboid, sphere, pyramid). They have done so well to describe the number of faces, edges and vertices the shapes have. You could maybe look around your house to see what 3D shapes you can spot.
A letter about sports day was sent today - please refer to that for timings and information about the picnic on that day.
The summer fayre will be held on Saturday 13th July - it would be great to see you there!
Many thanks for your continued support,
Reception Team
