Weekly News - 21.6.19
What a fun week we have had in topic! We have been writing facts about different minibeasts to create a non-fiction book and we have also been using potato printing to make caterpillars. The children have had lots of fun threading to make a spiders web and we have collected and used leaves in a collage. It has been a great, creative week for Team Periwinkle and Team Teal.
In maths, the children have been learning about half of a shape. They have cut shapes in to half and have cut leaves in half. They know that half means that you have cut a shape in to two EQUAL parts. We have also learned to draw a line down or across the middle of the shape and can explain if a shape has been cut in to halves or not.
Upcoming Events:
-Wednesday 26th June is Reception class assembly. We cannot wait to share our learning with you! (9am in the school hall)
-Thursday 4th July - transition morning - children will spend time with their new teacher (children to come in to their own classroom as usual in the morning)
-Thursday 4th July - open evening at 5:30-7:00pm. This is a chance to see the wonderful learning that has gone on this year, for children to show you their new classroom and for you to meet their new teacher(s).
A BIG PLEA!
We will need as many shoe boxes as possible over the next few weeks. If you have any lying around at home, please send them in to school. Many thanks!
There are some photos below showing the wonderful things we have been doing in school over the past week.
Once again, many thanks for our continued support!
