What another fun and busy week we have had in Reception!
In maths, the children have been learning how to write addition and subtraction calculations, ensuring that they use the + - and= signs correctly.
In topic, we have started our new topic: Growth. We have read the story of Jack and the Beanstalk and the children have planted their own seeds which we will (hopefully) see grow over the coming weeks. The children have also drawn pictures of the Giant from the story and have described Jack and the Giant.
In PE this term, the children will be learning how to play games involving throwing, catching and hitting a ball. Please make sure that your child has a PE kit in school at all times and that all of the items are labelled. Many thanks.
As the weather is getting warmer, please ensure that your child has a named water bottle in school every day. We will help the children to fill these up again during the day if needed. On warmer days, also provide your child with a sun hat and apply sun cream before school. Your help with this is much appreciated!
As the children are getting ready to move in to Year 1, we will now be helping them to make sure that their t-shirts are tucked in. When they arrive at school, please could you help us by just checking that their shirts are tucked in. Once again, many thanks for this!
A huge well done to the children who have completed the home learning task- the plants and flowers are brightening up our classrooms!
Home learning task to be completed by Monday 20th May:
“My Home Town”
Where we grow up plays a huge part in our lives – shaping who we are, what we do, who we know and where we go! For your home learning project for ‘Good to be Me’, over the course of Term 5, we would like you to create something that tells us all about what ‘My Home Town’ means to you. This home learning can take any form – there is no right or wrong way but you can be as creative as you like!
Below are some photos to show some of the wonderful things we have been doing over the past week!
