Important Dates:

Term 3 will start for children on Wednesday 3^rd January 2024. Doors open at 8:30am.

Year 6 will be competing against Upton Junior School and RAPS in a TTRS competition.  This competition will start on 8^th January 2024!

English

In Term 3, Year 6 will spend the first three weeks reading the text: Leon and the Place between.  The children will explore the illustrations and the narrative and then plan and write a setting description from the book, focusing on figurative language.

Maths

In Term 3, Year 6 will return to shape, focusing on 3D shapes.  They will spend time learning the properties of 3D shapes, building them and exploring the shape’s nets.

PSHE

To start Term 3, Year 6 will be learning about the Year 6 Champion of Courage – Richard Rogers a well-known architect. We will discuss what it means to be courageous and what barriers Richard Rogers overcame to succeed in his field.

Home Learning:

We have set a MyOn home learning task for the children to read.  There are three books to choose from and to then take a quiz on! All three books are linked to either Science in Term 3 and their English. Access MyOn here https://www.myon.co.uk/index.html  The children’s username and password is the same as their AR one (these are on the front of their Reading Records).
