One Childhood, One Chance

W/B Monday 26th June 2023 Team Indigo and Team Royal

Team Indigo and Team Royal have had a wonderful week, take a look at what we have been up to ….

Maths

This week in maths was money sense week! We started the week recapping the coins and that money needs to be looked after and the different ways of keeping it safe. We talked about how we would feel if our money was lost or stolen and what we would do if we ever found any money. We then looked at our needs and wants and if we would spend or save our money. We talked about what was important to spend our money on and what we would save for a ‘rainy day’. Lastly we looked at buying things in a shop and counting our money carefully, looking to see what was a good offer in a shop to spend our money on and what was not. E.g. 10p for an apple or 2 apples for 50p.

English

This week in English we have created our own worm burgers using spaghetti and mixed it with ingredients outside in the forest school. We then described how delicious they were using exciting adjectives in a list. We then made our own recipe listing our ingredients, equipment used and our method. Take a look at our wiggly worm burgers!

Thematic Curriculum

This week we continued our thematic curriculum Ready Steady Sow and Grow and all became scientists! At the beginning of the week we looked at producers (plants that make their own food) and consumers (animals that eat food). We then looked at food chains and how all good chains start with a producer. We made our own food chains and used arrows to show who is eaten by who. Later in the week we looked at different habitats and what an animal needs in their habitat to survive.

Art

This week in art we looked at Georges Seurat’s pointillism artwork and replicated his famous artwork called ‘A Sunday on La Grande Jatte’.

Monkton Trip

Here are a few photos of our unforgettable trip to Monkton Nature Reserve.

Quad Kids

We were all so proud of  Team Indigo and Team Royal taking part in the Quad Kids on Wednesday. Here are some photos of them in action.
