Weekly News - 22.3.19
What a fabulous start to our Space topic we had on Monday! We had a huge planetarium in the school hall which the children in Reception absolutely loved! We must also say that the space models you have sent in have been outstanding - thank you for the time and effort you have spent making these with your child.
This week in topic, the children have been writing facts about space, have been thinking about what they would take to space with them if they were an astronaut and have been making and decorating stars for a whole school display. We will be continuing with our space topic next week.
In maths, the children have been learning to sequence things in the correct order (e.g. events during the day). They have also started ti tell the time on a clock face (focussing on telling the o'clock times).
In PE this term, the children have been focussing on gymnastics (e.g. balancing, travelling and rolling). Please see some photos below of the children practising these skills in PE.
We will also be holding an Easter Bonnet / hat parade for Reception, Year 1 and 2 pupils. We invite children to create an Easter masterpiece in head-wear and then bring it to school on the last day of term (5th April). We will then hold a parade at 10:00 and parents of Reception, Year 1 and 2 children are invited to join us. Please come in via the school hall. The parade will last no longer than 20-30 minutes. Prizes will be awarded to the best creations!
