One Childhood, One Chance

Year 4 Weekly News 31.3.23

Maths

In maths, we have been learning about angles. We began the week by understanding the different angles. We looked at acute, obtuse and right angles, knowing that acute was smaller than 90 degrees, a right angle was 90 degrees and an obtuse angle was over 90 degrees but less than 180 degrees. We also moved on to comparing angles and classifying triangles. We looked at equilateral, isosceles and scalene triangles.

English

In English this week, we have been learning about settings. There were some fantastic setting pictures in our book that we could describe. We began by describing a beautiful eagle sunset picture using personification and similes. We then moved onto looking at verbs, adverbs and expanded noun phrases to describe a busy bustling village.

RE

Throughout RE this week, we have been learning about why Easter is so important to Christians. We have looked at the whole story of Jesus being arrested, his crucifixion and his resurrection.
