Home Learning Tasks:
We would like the children to bring in a small plastic bottle (500ml) on Monday that they can use for an activity linked to their writing next week. An old bottle (Evan, coke, Buxton etc..) will be great. Thank you.
- Year 6 have been set a challenge this week. We would like them to read the book ‘Japan’ on MyON and then take a quiz. Access Myon here - https://www.myon.co.uk/index.html
- The children have been learning to spell a variety of homophones (words that sound the same but are spelt different) the following words this week. They will be tested on this next week.

English
This week we wrote in role as Kensuke showing his characterisation through the language that he uses. We also wrote a monologue as Michael when he is sharing his thoughts about Kensuke on the island. We spent some time this week learning about the Japanese artist: Hiroshige. We recreated wave images using water colours and pastels.
Maths
This week, the children have solved problems linked to money demonstrating their understanding of adding, subtracting, and reasoning problems. The children then revisited time and spent three days solving problems linked to time, clocks and timetables.
Afternoon lessons:
This week, we had a visitor in Year 6 (one of our school caretakers). They spoke about why it is important to stay safe around electricity and what dangers there are. The children have learnt how to re-wire a plug safety and explored a variety of artwork linked to electronic games. The children, next week, will be working in groups of three to design their own electronic game using a variety of components. They will design the artwork for this game too!
