In maths this week, the children were looking at word problems and multiplication. The children learnt distributive and associative law and how to multiply in different ways such as partitioning.
In English, the children began to look at persuasion. We used persuasive sentence starters and modal verbs to write persuasive letters to the high court about Ahmet and his family.
In Science this week, the children continued to look at the different sound and pitch different sized elastic bands made and why they made the different sound. In Design and Technology, the children planned and made their own musical instruments.
Next Week:
In maths next week, the children will be working on using the short division method when dividing 3 digit numbers and moving on to fractions, looking at fractions of amounts.
In English, the children will be writing a diary entry of the events throughout the book and planning and writing their own newspaper articles.
In Art next week, the children will be exploring and commenting on iconic album covers and experimenting with water colours. Finally, creating their own iconic album cover.
Safer Internet Day Video Wall
Safer Internet Day 2023 is on 7th February 2023, and will be celebrated with the theme “Want to talk about it? Making space for conversations about life online”.
Coordinated in the UK by the UK Safer Internet Centre, Safer Internet Day sees thousands of organisations get involved to promote the safe, responsible and positive use of digital technology for children and young people.
As part of the Safer Internet Day 2023 campaign, we want to hear young people’s voices about their lives online.
We have created a video wall on our website where any young person aged 7-18 can upload a short film they have created about their online experiences – what they like, what they don’t like and what they would change if they could on the internet.
