Friday 9th December
Year 5 have had an amazing penultimate week of term. Here is what we have been up to:
Maths:
In maths, we have been using our measuring skills to solve problems using the four operations. We have revised how to use the bar model to represent calculations and used the acronym RUCSAC to help us break the problems down.
Next week we will be completing maths investigations involving statistics.
English:
This week, we have continued to write our space themed narratives. We focussed on using a range of sentence structures to build suspense in our writing.
Next week we will finish reading our book 'The Jamie Drake Equation' and finish off our narratives.
Afternoons:
In the afternoons this week we have been finishing off our Stargazers topic and rehearsing for our Christmas production next week.
