Weekly News 19.11.21
English
This week we have been retelling the story of the Ice Palace in preparation for creating our own narrative pieces next week. We began planning our writing and looking back at all the elements and parts of the book. Throughout our writing we have concentrated on sentence openers, conjunctions and continued to use the description we have learnt previously.
Maths
This week we have moved on to the properties of shapes. We began looking at the different types of triangle such as, equilateral triangle, isosceles triangle and scalene triangles. We then looked at the different quadrilaterals and lines of symmetry.
PSHE and TOPIC
We began the week by continuing our wellbeing work, we looked at a character called Ian who had cerebral palsy. He found things in the playground really difficult and the other children began to laugh at him. We looked at how we would act differently in that situation. Towards the end of the week, we continued looking at our Egyptian topic. We started to understand how important the River Nile is to Egyptians.
Love to learn
Maths
We would like you create your own symmetrical figures. This can be shapes or it can be objects, the only rule is that it has to have a least one line of symmetry in it!
English
We would like you to write a short narrative piece but it has to include a problem and a resolution. Create a character and tell us what happens to them and how they solve the problem.
