Dinosaurs! 13/11/20
We love our dinosaur topic!
This week the children have thrown themselves into the dinosaur topic lessons. They have achieved so much in such a small amount of time and here is just some of the activities they have been up to!
After learning about different habitats, the children made dinosaur habitats from natural recourses around the playground and got creative with making lakes from bowls, waterfalls from blue tape, trees from toilet rolls and sticks and caves from small boxes. The children selected the right dinosaur for their habitats and did some great role-play.
They have also been busy making different types of dinosaurs from their handprints and were very good at identifying which dinosaurs are herbivores and which are carnivores.
This week the children have been put into smaller groups for Read Write Inc and have taken to this very well. They have been practising how to write sounds carefully and so we are going to continue with the pink handwriting books at home. Instead of having sounds written into the pink books, we are asking you to choose a sound a day to practice with your child at home.
Well done to another wonderful week of learning and fun, we hope you all have a lovely weekend.
