Home Learning - 21.5.20
Throwback Thursday- get those tunes on to motivate your learning!
Phonics
Each day of school closure, the Ruth Miskin team will be uploading a Set 1, Set 2 and Set 3 Speed Sounds lesson video to Youtube. We will be following the Set 1 videos. These will be sounds that your child has learned in class already. You will be recapping these sounds at home which will hopefully give your child a sense of confidence.

Today (21.5.20) the video will be focusing on the sound ‘a’.
After practicing writing the sound in your book, please then recap writing the sounds ‘s’ and ‘p’ just as we did last term.
Now can you try writing these three words?
‘sat’ ‘at’ ‘pat’
No-tech phonics
Alternatively, you can recap the sound ‘a’ with your child yourself.
Practise your Set 1 sounds using phonics flashcards (homemade ones are just as good!)
Now practise writing ‘sat’ ‘at’ ‘pat’.
Writing activity
Its Mavis’s birthday. She would like you to design your own invitations. She said that the party is tomorrow, at her house and starts at 1:00. Design your invitations and remember to write the important information.
Maths
See if you can solve these addition questions! Use the rain droplets to help.
Maths Challenge
Use a dice to make your own addition sentences. If you do not have any dice at home, use the link to the online dice? https://www.random.org/dice/?num=2

Read through the PowerPoint with your adult. Talk abut each step of a human’s life. Ask your adult questions if you have any, Think about your own ideas for each stage of a human’s life.
Challenge
What do you think helps a human grow healthily? Write it down so we can discuss this at school.
