Please see below the letter sent home today regarding Chinese New Year.

 

 

Year R – Chinese New Year

 

Dear Parents,

As you may be aware, Chinese New Year is upon us once more. To celebrate this occasion, we will be studying Chinese culture and looking at how they celebrate New Year.

Part of this mini topic will involve tasting Chinese food. The foods we will try are prawn crackers, seaweed, vegetable spring rolls, prawn on toast, chicken balls, stir fried chicken with vegetables, stir fried Chinese and Chinese style rice and noodles (these will contain egg).   

 

Please let us know if you do not wish for your child to take part in this activity due to dietary requirements or whether you wish to provide an alternative to the foods available. 

 

The food will be provided by a local Chinese Restaurant, owned by parents within the school. We are asking for a small contribution of £2 to cover the cost of the food. Please complete the permission slip below and return to school with £2 in a named envelope by Wednesday 22nd January.
