Investigating Materials
Today we investigated materials to help a mermaid called Marissa. She wrote to us explaining that she had lost some scales from her tail and now her tail was no longer waterproof. We went around the classroom looking for resources to test. We gathered paper, wood, fabric, plastic, tissue paper and foam. We then used pipettes to pour water onto the materials and see which was the most waterproof out of our selection. The children were pleased to inform Marissa that the plastic was the best material to replace the scales on her tail.
