Upcoming Christmas Events:
On Tuesday 29th November, the Chilton Fundraisers will be holding a 'Christmas Lantern Festival' from 3.15-4.15 on the school field. Mr. Redwood and the school choir will be leading the Christmas carols. There will be hot chocolate and festive cakes available, a tombola, a Christmas shop and a handful of festive games to play. On Monday 28th November, we will be having a non-school uniform day. On this day we ask the children to bring in a bottle for our Tombola. In addition, on Monday 21st November, we will be sending a white bag home. We ask the children decorate these and add a treat to the bag, for example some sweets or crayons. We would like these brought into school on Monday 28th November, ready to be sold at the Festival on Tuesday.

Love to Learn
There are two MyMaths activities for the children to complete online based on last week’s fraction and triangle work.
Pick ten more spellings that you haven’t already picked from the Year 4 spelling list.
This Week:
In maths this week, the children worked on adding and subtracting fractions with the same denominator. We looked at going over a whole and keeping your denominator the same. Later on in the week, we concentrated on the features of different triangles. We looked at equilateral, isosceles, scalene and right-angle triangles.
In English, the children were working on writing an information text about how to survive in the extreme cold climate. We began by planning it and then writing it looking at technical vocabulary and cause and effect conjunctions.
Due to antibullying week, we have been looking at this all week for our PSHE. We have concentrated on friendships, how we make up and how to show empathy and sympathy.
Term 2, Week 4:
In maths, the children will be looking at different angles, quadrilaterals and to finish the week we will be concentrating on lines of symmetry.
In English, we are going to be planning and writing our own quest stories.
In Topic next week, we are going to be concentrating on the history of ancient Egypt. Looking at beliefs and rituals, gods, Tutankhamun’s tomb and also mummification.
