In maths this week, the children have been learning to add by combining two groups together and then counting to find the total.  They have also been saying the value of the first number and then counting on to add on the second number.  They will be continuing to learn to add next week.

The children have been applying the skills they learn in their Read, Write, Inc sessions to their writing back in the classroom.  On a Tuesday, half of the children complete a writing activity and half go up to the forest area and then swap.  This week the children wrote about what they like.

In topic, the children have been completing different activities based on the story of The Three Little Pigs.  They have been sequencing the story in the correct order, acting out the story using role play, using words and phrases to describe the Big Bad Wolf and making houses for the pigs using different construction materials.

The children have enjoyed using the new part of the outside area this week.  They have been riding the bikes around the new track and using the stage to perform.
