We have welcomed the children back for our final term and it has been a pleasure to see them all come back with smiles on their faces and ready to learn!

Maths

This week we have had a bit of different week for maths. Due to our aspirations day, money sense day and our practice for the multiplications check we only had one normal lesson! We looked at fractions of amounts, which we are going to concentrate on at the start of next week. Throughout our money sense day, we looked at what money is, the different forms of money and how our feelings and thoughts can be affected. The children were incredibly mature throughout the important discussions that we had.

Next week we will be fractions of amounts and recapping our four operations.

English

This week we have started our new book called ‘The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane’. So far, we have met a china rabbit called Edward whose owner is a girl called Abilene. The children are fantastically engaged and looking forward to where his journey might take him. We started off by describing Edward Tulane, we looked at his appearance, his clothes, his manner and what we thought of him so far.

Aspirations Day

On our first day back, we had a whole day about aspirations! We looked at their dreams and what they could achieve if they put their minds to it. It was wonderful to see what the children wanted to do with their lives and what they wanted to achieve.

LOVE TO LEARN

As our multiplication check is on Wednesday. We would like to you practice as much as possible! It is the last chance to be able to practice before the real thing on Wednesday!

Reminders!

Can you please bring in any empty bottles for our Topic? Empty coke bottles would be perfect!
